Since we opened our doors in 1908, Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital has been working to improve the health of people in the Cadillac community. Today, we provide quality health care to more than 80,000 residents across seven counties. Our hospital staffs 49 acute-care beds with 65 active physicians. We joined the HMS Collaborative in 2013 and have made improvements to the way our patients are screened for the risk of developing venous thromboembolism (VTE) while in our hospital. This was done in collaboration with Munson Medical Center in making improvements to our electronic health record by including a tool for physician’s to use to better assess a patient’s risk of developing blood clots while hospitalized. We are also currently working on improvements with the insertion of PICC lines and the use of Antimicrobial Stewardship. Dr. Michael Salata, who is a hospitalist is our physician champion and Curtis Johnson BSN, RN is our quality administrative lead and clinical data abstractor.
